As we welcome the New Year, I want to begin with a simple but sincere message to our community across the Middle East and the global diaspora: thank you for being part of this journey.
Since we launched in April 2025, African Expats Magazine has grown with one clear purpose in mind: to be a home for ambition and achievement within the African and Caribbean expatriate community. A space that reflects not only where we come from, but the scale of what we are building, contributing, and becoming across the world.
The beginning of a new year is always a moment of reflection and intention. It invites us to pause, acknowledge progress made, lessons learned, and define the direction ahead. For African Expats Magazine, this new year represents growth, deeper storytelling, and a continued commitment to documenting excellence with integrity, clarity, and purpose.
Building a Credible Platform for African and Caribbean Expats
African Expats Magazine was created to be more than just another digital publication. From the start, the intention was to build a credible and aspirational platform that reflects who African and Caribbean expatriates truly are today.
Not only where we come from, but where we are going.
Not only our presence abroad, but our contribution, leadership, and impact across industries and communities.
Over the past months, we have amplified voices that are too often overlooked, highlighted excellence in business, culture, leadership, an creativity, and documented the lived realities of professionals navigating life and opportunity beyond their home countries. Most importantly, we have done so with pride, nuance, and respect for our stories.
African Expats Magazine is designed to be a reference point. A place where ambition is visible, achievement is recognised, and contribution is documented with intention.
A Clear Editorial Vision for 2026
As we move into 2026, our ambition is sharper and our responsibility greater. African Expats Magazine will continue to grow as a trusted home for leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, families, and young professionals shaping impact across borders.
Our editorial focus in 2026 will centre on four core pillars:
Leadership and Influence
Highlighting individuals shaping industries, organisations, and conversations across the Middle East, Africa, and the global African diaspora.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Sharing real stories of growth, resilience, strategy, and execution from founders and professionals building across multiple markets.
Culture, Identity, and Community
Celebrating lifestyle, heritage, and the everyday realities that define the African and Caribbean expat experience.
Youth and the Next Generation
Giving visibility to emerging voices and future leaders redefining success on their own terms.
This approach is about depth, not noise. Substance, not trends.
A Platform Built With the Community
African Expats Magazine is a collective effort. It grows through the stories you share, the conversations you engage in, and the standards you expect from platforms that represent you.
In the year ahead, I invite you to continue building this space with us. Submit stories, recommend voices that deserve visibility, engage thoughtfully with our content, and see African Expats Magazine as a platform that belongs to you as much as it represents you.
As Editor-in-Chief, I remain deeply committed to ensuring that African Expats Magazine reflects excellence, credibility, and intention. Our community deserves to be seen clearly, represented accurately, and celebrated without dilution.
May 2026 be a year of clarity, expansion, and bold decisions for you and your families. May your work be recognised, your ambitions supported, and your achievements documented wherever you are in the world.
Thank you for trusting African Expats Magazine with your stories.
Warm regards,
Vanessa Kamé-Domguia
